Attended a party yesterday at this location and WOW! Great service and wonderful Pizza. I hadn’t had good pizza like that in a long time. Charming location- just love parkville so much. The waitress was so friendly and worked her butt off the entire time. The party space is just perfect for a get together for family/friends. Will for sure keep in this in mind for future events. Had a great time, and will be back!

Best GF Pizza I’ve ever had!

First time diners, we ordered the Garden pizza and subbed Kalamata Olives for the black olives, and ordered with a gluten free crust. I have Celiac but my mother does not. She wasn’t overly excited to eat a gf crust… but would now order this again. This was amazing! Crust was great, ingredients fresh, wonderful sauce, great overall taste. I would drive the 30 min to Parkville /just to eat this pizza/. Seriously. Also, very friendly, helpful, and quality service.

Great tasting Italian Sausage

My hubby and I walked down the hill to Stone Canyon. Though I’ve lived here 2 years, this was my first visit.
We were greeted and seated immediately and the waitress was there very quickly. We looked over the menu. They have a wide range of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and of course pizza. We opted for Caesar salads and a medium Italian sausage, double mozzarella pizza with the original crust. Salads were tasty and had a good amount of greens, tomatoes, croutons, cheese and dressing. The pizza came just about the time we were finished with the salads. Crust was crisp and not too thick. Pizza was nice and hot. I loved the taste of the sausage.
Great wait staff. They kept our glasses filled and cleared the table efficiently. Tv was playing the Royals…..and they were winning!
Only downside I could see was that you had to go up three steps to get to the tables. So I’m not sure it is very accessible for people in wheelchairs.
I’m sure we will be back.

Great place, highly recommend

I like this place and go out of my way to plan lunch here whenever I’m in the vicinity. This most recent visit was one of those times, plus I got to bring someone who had never been here before. The restaurant’s name is a little misleading because, yes, they have great pizza, but that’s not all they have by any means. This time, my two companions had salads and I had a reuben sandwich, so no pizza at our table. I’ve had their pizza before, and it could easily be called gourmet, but they also have pastas, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and a full bar. The service was good, and everything was fresh and tasted great. One of my lunch companions loved the crinkle fries which came with my sandwich and kept stealing them. Stone Canyon is not a very big place, and in fact, the dining room is long and narrow. To be honest, several of the businesses I used to like in Parkville are no longer there, but this place is still a good reason to visit and it’s right downtown. In fact, it’s right at the corner where you come into the main street from the east.

Liked it for lunch and went back for dinner

We did a quick trip to Kansas City to check out a certain shop and accidentally stumbled across Stone Canyon.
Food was excellent! They were able to accommodate our hard to feed young daughter with severe food allergies (we pack food in for her at places that can’t do it).
Service was good enough that we went back later for dinner.
There were plenty of menu options to have a different experience than we did at lunch. Everything was reasonably priced.
We will go back if we find ourselves in the area.

Wonderful food!

We walked by this restaurant and decided to go in based on the good smells 🙂 The pizza we ordered was a double pepperoni with green and red bell peppers. It was delicious! I would highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean.

It’s been several years since I’ve eaten at this place. I first ate at their place in Parkville in the late 90’s.  It was a great and quick place to get a tasty and reasonably priced lunch.  In those days one of my favorite sandwiches that they offered was the Italian Sub.  And that is what I ordered tonight.

This sandwich consists of…Smoked ham, Genoa salami, pepperoni, cheddar and provolone cheeses with banana peppers baked in an Italian roll. Served with lettuce, tomato and Italian dressing. Warm from the oven, I tossed on the tomatoes and shredded lettuce and then drenched it in Italian dressing.

Taking a bite, I get the freshness of the bread, the savory flavors of the meat, sweet juiciness of the tomatoes, and the crisp crunch of the lettuce followed by the bite of the Italian dressing.  This place is well worth your time to pay a visit to.

Well Done Stone Canyon Pizza Co.

Stone Canyon Pizza is a cool spot in downtown Parkville and is locally owned and operated. We went around 7pm and there was no wait. It’s a family friendly place, we saw multiple families and we brought our 2mo old without any problems. The service was excellent, our waitress was very prompt with taking our order, getting refills, and getting the check. The food was brought out quickly too.
We got the Berry Spinach Salad and Spicy BBQ Chicken Pizza. The salad was super good and had plenty of chicken, strawberries, and candied walnuts.  The Spicy BBQ Chicken pizza is one of their more popular pizzas and we were glad we gave it a try. We got it without jalapeños, but the combo of chicken, bacon, and pineapple was excellent. I’d definitely recommend both of those.
Was this place the best pizza parlor I’ve ever had? Probably not, but they certainly delivered in quality and service. Give this place a try if you are hanging around Parkville.

Everything was pretty good here. Meatballs were moist and the sauce was sweet and home made tasting.
Turkey bacon avocado sandwich was fresh and tasty.  I had them swap the mayo for italian dressing and complimented nicely.

I am a fan of Stone Canyon Pizza because of the quality ingredients, not the quantity. One should be able to taste the individual ingredient components. Otherwise, warm up a frozen pizza.
I love the 5 cheese and Roma, which has Mozzarella, Provolone, Asiago, Parmesan, and Roma. Each cheese has it’s own distinct flavor. The basil seemed picked from the garden ( not commercially grown).
A true test of pizza craftsmanship by which to judge a pizza is whether they can make a basic Pepperoni pizza. Most people want pepperoni chips the way slot lovers love coins from a one arm bandit machine; covered and dripping off. That is not the way to savor and enjoy your pizza. Stone Canyon seems to have utilized the Pi formula to determine the pepperoni to “pie” coverage for the mouth watering, gastronomic experience. And the crust is just the right thickness and crunch factor.
For an awesome pizza experience, Stone Canyon is the gourmet pizza without the ostentatious attitude. Please view the pix to whet your appetite and head on over to Zona Rosa’s Stone Canyon Pizza.
