If you have never had Detroit Style Pizza, you are missing out! The unique looking pizza is rectangular, instead of your traditional round pizza. It’s cut into 8 magnificent slices. The dough is made a little different from your traditional pizzas. Its more hydrated, or wet, so it’s stickier and more difficult to work with. It also has to rest longer than traditional style pizza dough. But Detroit Style Pizza is worth the wait!
When the dough has rested, it’s sprinkled with a blend of Wisconsin Brick Cheese and Whole Milk Mozzarella and baked until the cheese caramelizes around the edges. This caramelized cheese is one of the best parts. The crust is crispy, yet bready and chewy and cheesy and oh, so good!
Not only is the dough and cheese different on a Detroit Style Pizza, so is how the toppings are layered. The ingredients are put directly on top of the cheese. This allows the cheese to form a barrier between the toppings and the dough. Once the ingredients are added, it’s topped with sauce. Seems backwards, but the sauce can then marry with the ingredients.
The sauce on a Detroit Deep Dish Pizza is different too. It has a robust tomato flavor and not as many seasonings as an Italian style pizza, so the tomato flavor is robust and dominant.

All of our Detroit Deep Dish Pizzas have Wisconsin Brick Cheese sprinkled on the top along with our Signature Detroit Sauce.
